Dexcon held their much anticipated DEKADA event to celebrate 10 years of contemporary Philippine professional wrestling. The Brawl Pit Bulusan venue in Quezon City hosted the show in front of a packed crowd.

Throughout the show, performers who were previously under Manila Wrestling Federation briefly addressed the promotion’s sudden shutdown announcement. As it was a celebration of 10 years of Pinoy wrestling, they guaranteed that the local scene was going nowhere.

Fabio & Jomar’s fundraiser campaign

After Jomar and Fabio Makisig’s competitive match, the two sat together in the ring to share their plans to train in Japan under Tajiri’s wing. They called on to the audience members to request for their support for them to achieve their goal. Anyone interested in supporting Jomar and Fabio’s goal to train in the Japanese wrestling style may do so through their Go Get Funding fundraiser campaign.

Post-show notes

Jake De Leon and Zack Sabre Jr. shared a sign of respect in the ring after their time limit draw main event match. Jake expressed his gratitude towards Zack for accepting the invitation to wrestle in the Philippines for Dexcon and putting on a competitive match for Filipino fans to enjoy live. “If you’ll excuse me, I just had a 30-minute match with the best technical wrestler in the world. I apologize for crying, but if you all heard the news [MWF’s shutdown], you know how hard everything has been the past few weeks especially for everyone in Pinoy wrestling. But before I get to them, I just want to do one thing for the handsome devil in the corner [Zack Sabre Jr.],” he said, as he proceeded to bow in front of Zack Sabre Jr to which Zack returned the gesture.

After the show, Dexcon thanked the fans in attendance for modern Philippine wrestling’s 10-year anniversary as well as their sponsors and media. They said that “When all is said and done, this night will go down as one of the most important nights in Philippine wrestling – as well as South East Asian wrestling as a whole.
