Late actor Dilip Kumar had a bungalow in Pali Hill, Bandra and now the triplex, measuring 9,527 sq ft has been sold for a whopping price. According to several reports, a company called Apco Infratech Private Limited has bought the triplex apartment for a staggering price of Rs 172 crores. Apco Infratech Private Limited has secured this palatial triplex spread across the 9th, 10th, and 11th floors of the under-construction building.
The apartment, spanning 9,527 sq ft, was sold for Rs 155 crore, making it one of the area’s highest per sq ft deals at Rs 1.62 lakh per sq ft. The transaction incurred a stamp duty of Rs 9.3 crore and a registration fee of Rs 30,000. The redevelopment project, named ‘The Legend,’ is being carried out by Ashar Group and features 4 and 5 BHK luxury apartments. Additionally, the house will be transformed into a 2000 sq ft museum dedicated to celebrating the life and work of Dilip Kumar. The museum will be curated in consultation with his wife, Saira Banu.
Earlier this month, Saira Banu had shared screenshots of her love letter on Instagram and penned a lovely note narrating the story behind it. A part of the note read, “You see, Sahib was the greatest actor of all time. He had absolutely everything at his disposal, yet not many people know that he suffered from severe insomnia. Before our marriage, even after taking pills, he would remain awake until dawn. However, once we got married and became indispensable to each other, he started sleeping just in time. He even gave me a cute nickname, endearingly saying, “Saira, you are my sleeping pill, you are my pillow.” To this day, I burst into laughter remembering the charm with which he would say it.“
