Having gone into exile in Brazil, where he plays for the Vasco de Gama club, Dimitri Payet could soon be joined by a world football star.
After leaving Marseille in tears at the end of the 2022-2023 season, Dimitri Payet has decided to leave Europe to take on one last challenge in Brazil, with the legendary Vasco de Gama club. Under contract until 2025, the 37-year-old from Reunion Island could well be joined soon by a player who has made football history.
The player is Sergio Ramos, who is still without a club after leaving Sevilla at the end of last season. Former Vasco de Gama legend Edmundo has revealed that the Rio de Janeiro-based club have been offered the 38-year-old Spanish defender and that talks are ongoing.
“A very important agent from Rio de Janeiro came to offer us Sergio Ramos”
“A very important agent from Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo’s manager, came to offer us Sergio Ramos. We started talking and the defender asked for a very high salary “, said Edmundo, who remains optimistic about a potential arrival of the former Madrid player despite the latter’s financial demands.
“It would be fantastic, he is training and wants to play “, the Brazilian got excited, although he believes that ” the (salary) demand is absurd”. Negotiations will therefore continue between Sergio Ramos and Vasco de Gama. It remains to be seen whether common ground is possible or not.
