Dinner’s On Him: CM Punk Gits Fans With Pizza Following NXT

Call it a present? There are a lot of things that have to come together to make a wrestling show a success but ultimately it has to please the audience. If the fans are not happy with what they are seeing, nothing else going on matters. Occasionally a wrestling promotion will go out of the way to please the fans and this week, a single wrestler did just that for his hometown audience.

This week’s NXT took place near Chicago, Illinois and featured CM Punk, of Chicago, serving as the guest referee for the show’s main event. As seen on Twitter, Punk gave each fan in attendance pizza from Lou Malnati’s, a local pizza business. This is similar to Punk’s first appearance in AEW, also in Chicago, when he gave the fans free ice cream on their way out of the arena.

Opinion: This is something you do not see happen very often but when it does take place, it is one of the coolest things that you get to see in wrestling. Punk is one of the biggest stars in the industry and this is the sort of memorable thing that makes him stand out that much more. It is a big thank you to the fans and gives the show that much more of a personal touch, which is always a good thing.
