Disappointed with the lack of recognition towards him, Erling Haaland is seriously considering leaving Manchester City this summer.

It’s a little bomb that has just been dropped this Wednesday morning on the daily A.S.. According to the Spanish media, Erling Haaland is seriously considering leaving Manchester City during the next summer transfer window. And those around him would push him to join Real Madrid.

Disappointed to have been beaten by Lionel Messi for the title of best FIFA player of the year 2023 during The Best ceremony, the Norwegian serial scorer would be convinced that he would have been crowned if he had worn the Real Madrid tunic . By joining the Spanish capital, the Leeds native would hope to obtain more recognition in order to win individual distinctions.

A departure for just over €100 million?

Linked to Manchester City until June 2021, Erling Haaland would have a release clause estimated at 200 million, active during the next summer transfer window. But to believe A.S., this amount would only be valid for a Premier League club. For foreign teams, the 23-year-old striker’s clause would be “closer to 100 million than 200”.

A price which should not frighten the Madrid leaders, who nevertheless have other plans in mind for this summer. The priority would be Kylian Mbappé, free on June 30. And it’s difficult to imagine the Merengue being in a financial position to afford the Frenchman and the Norwegian in the same year. Only a refusal from the PSG star could push Florentino Perez to fall back on Haaland.
