Disney has just released a new four-minute holiday short directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Our Flag Means Death), available to stream on YouTube.
Largely dialogue-free and scored by an instrumental version of The Little Mermaid's "Part of Your World," The Boy & The Octopus follows a child who returns from a trip to the beach with an unwelcome tentacled mollusc resolutely attached to his head. Fortunately, the boy's distress soon evaporates as he and the wide-eyed octopus develop an unusual friendship, eventually culminating in a Christmas adventure.
