DIY highlights what Bluey has taught them.
Johnny Gargano is a very vocal fan of Bluey, the hit Australian children’s series that follows the adventures of an anthropomorphic six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy and her family. Gargano has worn Bluey-themed ring gear (as has his wife, Candice LeRae), and he’s often posted photos of their family wearing Bluey merchandise. Their son Quill’s first birthday party was also themed after the show.
DIY took part in a media scrum ahead of WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland. WrestleZone’s Managing Editor Bill Pritchard noted the question was probably more tailored to Gargano’s interests, although Ciampa was free to answer too: What is the biggest takeaway they have from watching the show?
DIY on Bluey
Tommaso Ciampa: “Don’t you dare… don’t you dare question my Bluey and Bingo love! You son of a… I have a five-and-a-half-year-old daughter at home! Don’t you — you just zip it up!
Johnny Gargano: [Laughs] “I think I’m just more of the [vocal] Bluey fan.
TC: “I’m a keepy-uppy bastard!”
JG: “When you talk about great fathers, Bandit is the prototype, right? There is no better father in the world than Bandit Heeler.”
TC: “He also sets a bar that’s unachievable. Some of those make-believe games, it’s like [got me thinking], ‘Bandit, someone wrote that for you…’
JG: “My favorite thing about Bluey anymore is, our two-year-old is a fan of Bluey. And whenever new episodes drop, we’re like, ‘We’ve got to watch the new episode!’ And Candice is like, ‘Well, he’s sleeping.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, wake him up, we’ve got to watch the new episode!’ It’s more for us now at this point.’”
