EXCLUSIVE: ABC certainly has something to sail-ebrate, as Ryan Murphy continues to be a buoy for the network’s fall slate.
The premiere of Ryan Murphy’s cruise ship medical drama has now amassed 16.5M cross-platform viewers in the 35 days since it aired, according to Disney. That includes the original broadcast airing on ABC, as well as linear encores, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and digital platforms.
The episode is up 299% over its live + same-day audience of 4.13M.
Growth definitely slowed as the month progressed, considering the premiere had hit nearly 14M viewers in just the first week of viewing, but that is quite typical. This still indicates that Doctor Odyssey continues to attract an even larger audience as the first season progresses.
That isn’t the only one of Murphy’s shows off to a strong start this season on ABC. 9-1-1 is still conjuring up impressive audiences in its eighth season.
The Season 8 premiere is up to 12.64M total viewers in the 35-day window, up 156% from the 4.93M that tuned in live + same-day. That means that the episode has added just under 3M viewers since the 7-day audience, which was at 9.8M.
The episode indicates a promising performance for this entire season, as currently pacing ahead of last season’s MP35 average, which was around 12.1M viewers.
New episodes of both 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey air Thursday nights on ABC.
