Dominic Cooper (Preacher) and Haley Bennett (Swallow) have been tapped to star alongside Jason Clarke in The Last Frontier, Apple TV+’s upcoming dram series from Jon Bokenkamp (The Blacklist) and Richard D’Ovidio (The Call). The series received a 10-episode series order in February 2023.
Starring Clarke as US Marshal Frank Remnick, The Last Frontier follows Frank, the lone Marshal in charge of the quiet, rugged barrens of Alaska, whose jurisdiction is turned upside-down when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates. Tasked with protecting the town he’s vowed to keep safe, he begins to suspect the crash wasn’t an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with international political implications.
Bennett plays Sidney, a CIA Agent who is tasked with working with Frank. Cooper portrays Havlock, a former Navy Seal and fugitive who is being hunted by US Marshals and the CIA.
The series is produced by Apple Studios. Sam Hargrave (Extraction) directs the pilot and serve as executive producer alongside Bokenkamp, D’Ovidio and Clarke.
Cooper starred in AMC’s Preacher and has appeared in Agent Carter and Spy City. His film work includes Mamma Mia!, its sequel The Devil’s Double and Captain America: The First Avenger. Cooper is repped by WME and Markham, Froggatt & Irwin.
The Last Frontier is Bennett’s first major TV role. Her film credits include Swallow, Widow Clicquot, The Magnificent Seven and Cyrano, and she’ll next be seen in Borderlands. She’s repped by WME and Markham, Froggatt & Irwin.
