Dominik Szoboszlai could make his return from a hamstring injury this weekend against Bournemouth.

The Hungarian international suffered the problem during the Reds' 4-2 win over Newcastle on New Year's Day and was withdrawn in the second half.

He sat out Liverpool's 2-0 win over Arsenal in the FA Cup and the 2-1 victory against Fulham in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

But the winter break has helped his cause, and he should be in contention very soon.

When will Dominik Szoboszlai return from injury?

After the initial injury, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the midfielder would miss the Arsenal and Fulham games.

He then wasn't sure about how many more matches they would be without the former RB Leipzig man.

Hamstring injuries are tricky and have to be carefully monitored, but since joining last summer, Szoboszlai has been a crucial player for the Reds.

He's made a home on the right side of Klopp's midfield three, and though they didn't miss him in the two cup games, Liverpool could do with his energy back in the team.

The Reds face a trip to the south coast next to face Bournemouth on Sunday, January 21.

At an awards ceremony in Hungary, Szoboszlai was asked if he would be fit for that match, and he said it was 'possible'.

However, he also confirmed that the medical team's decision would be final, and he would be happy to wait a bit longer.

So we could see him back this weekend, but if not, the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham next week is a more realistic return date.

But Klopp is likely to clarify Szoboszlai's situation in his pre-match press conference.
