Don Johnson claimed a young Johnny Depp shot his assistant with shotgun blanks during a prank.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel during Thursday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the “Doctor Odyssey” star recalled being Hunter S. Thompson’s neighbor in Woody Creek, Colo., and the countless pranks he’d pull on the actor.

“I called over to Hunter’s to see if had any weed and, of course, he had. Like a ton out back,” the 74-year-old told Kimmel.

“So I said, ‘Listen, I’m going to come over and get some weed ’cause I got a little group of people here.'”

After Thompson told him to come over, Johnson sent his assistant to pick it up.

“[He] drives up Hunter’s driveway and Johnny Depp and Hunter were hiding behind Hunter’s car with shotguns loaded with blanks and my assistant got out of the car and they both jumped out and said, ‘Die, mother!” he recalled before they began shooting him with the blanks.

Johnson then revealed that his assistant — “god bless him” — peed his pants from the fright.

Johnson and the gonzo journalist were actually best friends before the latter’s death by suicide in 2005.

The two first met in the ’80s during “the Andy Warhol days.”

“I was shooting my first movie in New York. We met because he was the crazy m—–f—er that came in with a pocket full of drugs, and our movie was about drugs. So I got to know him pretty well,” Johnson told People last month.

The two then became neighbors in Colorada before Thompson, who died at 67, became an uncle figure to Johnson’s kids, including actress Dakota Johnson.

As for Depp, he and Thompson were also very close friends throughout the years.

During his interview with Kimmel, Don also spoke about what it was like to raise Dakota, whom he described as an “eventful child.”

“If I would leave my phone lying around, just kinda unattended, she would get on the phone and somehow get into my contacts and send obscene messages to random people,” he recalled as the audience laughed.

“Also, the other thing, you want to be very mindful about leaving blank sheets of paper lying around your desk because she would promptly draw a large penis on it,” he detailed.

Don shares Dakota, 35, with ex Melanie Griffith. The “Miami Vice” actor also shares son Jesse, 41, with ex Patti D’Arbanville and daughter Atherton, 24, and Jasper, 22, with wife Kelley Phleger.
