When Donald Trump appeared in Manhattan federal court earlier this week, Trump-watchers noticed his hair seemed to be a different shade — skewing more to light orange.
We hear that his look is based on his own impatience.
Says an insider: “The hairdressers get mad at him, but can’t show it, as Trump can’t sit still as he needs at least to sit still for at least 30 minutes for [his hair color] to take.”
“Trump’s hair color can vary wildly from dark blonde to light — to bright orange — depending on how long his hairdresser can get him to sit still and let the color do its job,” the stylish source added.
“Friends say he’s so impatient that he rarely gives the stylist the 30 to 45 minutes… they need to keep his color consistent. The shorter time he gives them, the more orange his hair gets, as it takes time to get the darker blonde locks he associates with his younger years,” the source told us.
Many women can relate to agonizingly waiting at the stylist, a source said. And it gets lighter every time he washes it.”
One high society fashion maven chimed in that many women can relate to the agony of sitting so long to get their locks lightened or colored.
The color of Trump’s hair has previously been a topic of debate in style circles.
Trump’s hair has long been a subject of public fascination. REUTERSIn 2020, Vogue noted that Trump had gone grey, writing, “Overnight, Trump’s signature flaxen hair had been replaced by a new bright silver shade.”
New York Magazine’s style site, The Cut, alleged at the time, “Donald Trump has stopped dyeing his hair.” The fashion site added, “Thus far, the silver looks to be permanent. Trump seems done with dye.”
But we hear his hair is part of a style overhaul now that he’s the frontrunner for the GOP nomination.
Trump fans noticed a different shade in court recently. AFP via Getty ImagesSaid a source: “This includes everything from new pastel-colored ties — instead of the same solid red tie he’s made famous — to slimmer cut suits to replacing the boxy style of the past to better show of his weight loss.”
Sources have told us that wife Melania Trump has helped her hubby shed some pounds, and is also helping him update his look.
“The do-over also includes his hair… the makeover is intended to modernize and make his image more youthful as a contrast to grey [President] Biden, and to attract younger voters. His team wants a visual change of his image to show he’s different and not just the same Trump of 2016.”

Helen Mirren — who won an Oscar for playing Queen Elizabeth II in the 2006 film “The Queen” — once told Vanity Fair that Trump’s hair color is similar to an Italian beverage.
“It’s an aperitif in Italy, and it’s called Aperol… You should get a picture and put it alongside Donald Trump and see if there’s any similarity,” she said.
