Donny van de Beek has received an apology from his boss at Eintracht Franfurt after he was left out of the club's Europa Conference League squad.
The Manchester United outcast moved to Germany during the January transfer window on a loan deal with the option to make it permanent, with the hope of reigniting his career.

But while Van de Beek's exclusion was seen as a lack of confidence in the midfielder's quality, the club's head coach Dino Toppmoller explained the call.
Discussing his fitness, "He’s only played a total of four games in the last two years, so it won’t happen overnight.
"But I have 100 per cent confidence in his quality, he’ll definitely help us in the second half of the season.
"I told Donny that I was sorry but also what I expected from him now."
Toppmoller then went on to say he was impressed with Van de Beek's efforts to get his career back on track, with the Dutchman scoring one and providing two assists in a behind-closed-doors friendly against the Under-21s last week.
"That showed me that he can handle the decision well,’ Toppmoller said.
"He is ready to take on the challenge."

With the option to join Eintracht Frankfurt permanently this summer, the midfielder will be desperate to make an impression between now and the end of the season.
