IMG Credit: WWETwo more. We are just over a week away from WWE Crown Jewel and that means the card needs to start coming together to give the matches more time to be set up. Some of those matches are added after a big moment takes place, but occasionally they are set up after a series of smaller things. This week, we saw a little bit of both as the Crown Jewel card grew rather quickly.

There were two title matches added to the Crown Jewel card this week on SmackDown. First, LA Knight will defend the United States Title against Carmelo Hayes and Andrade in a triple threat match. Knight had been the special referee for a match between Andrade and Hayes when he attacked both men, prompting General Manager Nick Aldis to make the triple threat match. Later in the show, a Women’s Tag Team Title match was announced with Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defending against Meta Four, Piper Niven/Chelsea Green and Damage CTRL. This comes after the three other teams have been trading wins in recent weeks. Crown Jewel is set for November 2.
They have a lot to live up to. Check out how the matches came together:
Opinion: This is the kind of night that Crown Jewel needed, as adding in probably a third or more of the card in a single show is a heck of a boost. WWE pay per views do not have the longest cards these days so adding in two matches, with eleven wrestlers total, is quite the move. What matters now is making sure the matches work out, but at least the set up is there and that’s a big step.
