A Ghanaian scholar based in Saudi Arabia, Dr Adam Umar Yabila has been conferred with 2024 Hajj Excellence Award by Madinah-based Al-Noujum Al-Madinah, a Hajj service delivery company, for his invaluable contribution to Hajj organisation for African pilgrims.

Sheikh Ihsaan Mahmud, Chief Executive Officer of Al-Noujum, presented a decorated plaque to Dr Yabila at a short ceremony at the offices of Al-Noujoum in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following the end of the Hajj rites recently.

Dr Yabila, the first Ghanaian to receive a Ph.D. in the Teaching of Arabic to non-native speakers from the prestigious University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia, is the African Pilgrims Housing Supervisor for Al-Noujum.

A citation on the plaque reads: “We honour you for your outstanding supervision and commitment to providing exceptional accommodation and service to African pilgrims.”

“Your tireless efforts ensured a comfortable and memorable experience for all pilgrims,” the citation added.

Dr Yabila in receiving the award expressed gratitude to Allah for giving him the strength to contribute to the successful organisation of the Hajj, especially in the area of supervising the allocation of comfortable accommodation for the pilgrims to feel save in Saudi Arabia to be able to carry out the Hajj rites.

He thanked the management of Al-Noujum for the recognition of service and pledged to work harder to improve Hajj organisation for African pilgrims.
