Drama As Aisha Yesufu Refuses To Stand For New National Anthem, Others Laugh Instead Of Singing(VIDEO)

A video circulating across social media platforms captures Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu, publicly rejecting the recently adopted national anthem, ‘Nigeria We Hail Thee’.

During an event, Yesufu notably remained seated while others stood for the recitation of the new anthem. Her action left many attendees visibly surprised, as seen in the footage.

Taking to her official handle, Aisha shared a video clip of the moment with the caption, “Not my anthem”.

Despite the controversy surrounding it, the National Assembly recently passed the National Anthem Bill 2024. President Bola Tinubu signed the bill into law on Wednesday, replacing the ‘Arise O Compatriot’ anthem adopted in 1978.
