Money in the Bank featured several high-stakes matches, but the WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout stood out by raising the stakes even higher. This match culminated in an intense showdown between Seth Rollins and Damian Priest.
The match was a Last Chance contest for the World Heavyweight Championship. If Priest won, Rollins could never challenge for the title again as long as Priest remained champion. Conversely, if Rollins emerged victorious, Priest would be forced to leave The Judgment Day.
Damian Priest, an original member of Judgment Day alongside Edge, is now the only remaining original member of the faction. When Finn Balor questioned Priest about risking his spot in the stable, Priest confidently replied that he believed he would prevail.
Priest held the briefcase for 281 days before cashing it in at WrestleMania. At Money in the Bank, Rollins and Priest battled in a fierce back-and-forth matchup. Then Drew McIntyre entered the match and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to turn the match into a triple threat match.
Suddenly, CM Punk jumped in the ring and he took out Drew McIntyre. He destroyed McIntyre with a steel chair at ringside. Since it was a triple threat, there was no DQ. The match carried on as Punk continued his assault on Drew at ringside. Then Punk looked at the World Heavyweight Championship for a long time before grabbing it.
The Second City Saint got in the ring and then he nailed McIntyre in the face with the title. This was just as Damian Priest got to his feet to hit a South of Heaven Chokeslam to retain the title.
