Drew McIntyre has long waited for the chance to compete in a major event in his home country of Scotland. The Scottish Warrior will get that chance as he is set to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest at WWE Clash at the Castle this weekend at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

McIntyre recently announced his arrival in Scotland, expressing his excitement and breathing in the fresh Scottish air and began outlining his plans for the next few days in his home country.

Furthermore, he was next seen visiting Insane Championship Wrestling and preparing for an interview. Taking to his X from the same location, McIntyre reflected on the events that took place ten years ago to the date when he was released by WWE and was not even mentioned in the headlines. Drew claimed that it was the best thing that ever happened to him and since then, he has come a long way from being let go by the company to headlining one of its biggest Premium Live Events this week.

“June 12, 2014: Brodus Clay, Evan Bourne, Teddy Long, Curt Hawkins and other WWE Superstars released. I didn’t even make the headline. 10 years later I am the headline. #WWECastle.”

McIntyre’s life and career have drastically changed in the last decade, and now, all eyes are on him to see if he will seize this opportunity for a glorious moment at WWE Clash at the Castle and call himself World Champion once again.
