Drew McIntyre did what he said he would do.
At WWE SummerSlam, McIntyre beat Punk in a match where Seth Rollins was the special guest referee. Punk got distracted by Rollins, and McIntyre scored the win.
At the WWE SummerSlam Post-Show, Drew McIntyre was asked whether he was done with Punk. He stated that it was, as he did what he set out to do. McIntyre then noted that he should have taken more from Punk.
“Of course it’s over. I did exactly what I said I was going to do. I defeated CM Punk, I humiliated CM Punk. And I took everything from CM Punk. I should have took more, but this [bracelet] is gonna be a nice reminder of when Punk tried McIntyre and failed.
Drew McIntyre: I’m The Best
McIntyre was then asked whether he felt satisfied with the win, given how Punk got distracted by Rollins. He gave Punk credit, but he made it clear that he was the best,
“I’ll give Punk credit, I didn’t expect him to bring the fight like he brought it. But realistically, in 2024, Drew McIntyre is the absolute best in the world, the total package in every way, and who’s Punk gonna blame? I know he’s gonna probably come out on Raw, maybe he’ll post a little social media promo. It was Seth’s fault, maybe it was the cameraman’s fault.
“He’ll make some kind of excuse. In the end, not just punk, but nobody on this planet is as good as Drew McIntyre, and Punk’s found that in that ring, on this microphone, Drew McIntyre is the man.”
McIntyre also made it clear that he was not worried about Punk coming for revenge, as he proved that Punk was a hypocrite.
