With it officially confirmed that Cody Rhodes would face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, it is now time for WWE to determine Seth Rollins’ next challenger. Tonight on SmackDown, Nick Aldis made a bombshell announcement that there would be a Men’s Elimination Chamber match to determine who would face Rollins at WrestleMania.

To determine the participants of the match, Adam Pearce revealed that there would be a series of participating matches to decide who would qualify for the WWE Elimination Chamber. The first qualifying match of the night was between AJ Styles and Drew McIntyre.

Before the match, Drew McIntyre came out and continued to mock Randy Orton by saying that his knock-off shirt of Punk is doing better than Punk’s official shirts in sales. He then promised to save the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania by winning the Elimination Chamber match.

Before the match could begin, LA Knight came out and was on commentary for the match. AJ Styles and Drew McIntyre put on a grueling match that went back-and-forth. However, things unfolded towards the end of the match as Knight poured some water on Styles. Drew then shoved Styles into Knight moments later.

When AJ rolled up Drew for the win, Knight got on the apron and distracted the referee. Styles then attacked Drew but this distraction allowed Drew McIntyre to hit the Claymore for the win.

With this win, Drew McIntyre becomes the first person to qualify for the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we bring you live coverage of WWE SmackDown.
