Dune director Denis Villeneuve is sharing new details about the upcoming third installment in his film franchise, which seemingly will be the final one in the series. “I’m in the writing zone right now,” he told Deadline in a new interview, adding that the next movie will be completely different than the first two films. “I think it’ll be a great idea to do something completely different. The story takes place like 12 years after where we left the characters at the end of Part Two. Their journey, their story is different this time, and that’s why I always say that while it’s the same world it’s a new film with new circumstances,” Denis said. While there are more books in the Dune series following Dune: Messiah, Denis says the upcoming third movie “will finish the Paul Atreides arc.” Denis also confirmed four actors “have to return. They are with the main cast when it happens. And more worms. What can I say?” We are expecting that five more actors will likely be back too and there are five stars we don’t think will return.
