Dustin Rhodes encourages others to take a chance with characters, as he highlights his own experience as Goldust as an example.
Dustin Rhodes has an unforgettable career as Goldust in WWE across multiple stints with the company. The character remains one of the most memorable gimmicks in WWE history.
Speaking with Nadine Smith for Texas Monthly, Dustin Rhodes reflected on his run as Goldust. He explained how it made him take risks. Rhodes also noted that the”magic” happened when he was scared.
“Not every night is going to be one of those top-notch magical nights where the stars align and everything goes perfect,” Dustin Rhodes said. “But you can have many of those moments over your career if you just continue your growth, continue studying, and not be scared to step outside of your comfort zone. That’s another big thing that I’ve learned since Goldust. I was terrified to do that character, and it felt way out of my league. But it’s when I was scared that the magic happened. Just take a chance. You might surprise yourself.”
Dustin Rhodes continues to wrestle for AEW and ROH. In recent months, he has won the ROH World Tag Team Championship and the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship.
