Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag should have more players to call upon for Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie at Newport County.
Prior to the winter break, United welcomed back Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro back from long-term injuries, and now it sounds like Ten Hag will have more players back fit and available for selection when the squad travels to Newport this weekend.
Luke Shaw could return after being forced to pull out of our last match, which ended in a 2-2 draw against Tottenham at Old Trafford. The England international is back training with the squad at Carrington, alongside Harry Maguire, who has been out since the final Champions League group game against Bayern Munich.
One player definitely out of contention is Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has been ruled out for 10-weeks following a groin operation.
Others on the injury list include Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia and Mason Mount.
Meanwhile, Andre Onana and Sofyan Amrabat are still away competing at the Africa Cup of Nations. That means Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir could make his United debut against the League Two side.
