Sabu’s reputation as a professional wrestler precedes himself, but he ended up retiring a couple of years ago due to an injury. However, Sabu has now made it clear he plans to come out of retirement this year for one final match.

The pro wrestling legend faced a medical emergency last year, necessitating hospital visit. Moreover, Sabu previously stated that he can’t stand up straight anymore due to broken back.

While speaking on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, the ECW icon expressed his desire to step into the ring one last time, aiming for a final match this year. Sabu stated that he is seeking a meaningful farewell and one last payoff.

“I’m actually hopefully setting up for my final match,” Sabu said. “I wanna do maybe a final match maybe in July or later. A real final match. Just one more pay-off.”

Sabu dedicated his entire career to pro wrestling, earning the monikers “suicidal, homicidal, and genocidal maniac” for his daring style. At 59, his body can no longer endure the physical toll it once did but he is still determined for one last match.

Sabu previously noted that he doesn’t rule out wrestling again if the price is right. We will have to wait and see who his final opponent will be, as Sabu will finally bring an end to his legendary career.
