Sabu retired from in-ring competition two years ago due to an injury. His reputation in wrestling precedes him, marking a significant chapter in his career. However, Sabu does plan on returning for one last match and needs to have a couple of surgeries before he can make that happen.

The pro wrestling legend faced medical emergency last year that required a hospital visit. Additionally, Sabu has previously mentioned that he can no longer stand up straight due to broken back, revealing the physical toll his wrestling career has taken on him.

While speaking on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, the ECW icon discussed some of his lingering injuries. He revealed the need for knee and shoulder replacements but mentioned that he has postponed the surgeries.

“I’ll tell you, I’ve felt better. I don’t feel really bad, but I feel pretty bad. My knee, my back, and my shoulders, they all need surgery. I’ve been going to the gym lately, but I have to suck it up and go. It’s never, ‘Alright, today I feel good.’ It’s like, ‘f***,’ and it’s tough… I need my knee and my shoulder replaced, but I haven’t gotten around to it.”

Sabu also shared his experience recovering from hip surgery. Additionally, the ECW legend mentioned that his neck is doing okay, but he has spinal stenosis in his back.

I had my hip replaced. It took me about six months until I felt like working out. The pain was gone the first day.

My neck is alright. My back, I got spinal stenosis, and then my shoulder needs a complete replacement. My knee, also.”

Sabu also recently revealed that he wants to come out of retirement this year for one last match. Only time will tell if Sabu will be able to compete in one more match and then get the aforementioned surgeries he most definitely needs.
