The Eddie Howe AFC Wimbledon Press Conference has taken place.

The Newcastle United Head Coach speaking to the media ahead of Tuesday night’s match at St James’ Park.

Eddie Howe and the players hoping to follow up the excellent performance and result against Manchester City.

“We are looking forward to welcoming them.

“For us, we take the game seriously.

“They have started the season well, they are a strong team and are very good from set plays.

“Defensively they have been excellent this season too, we have a challenge to break them down.”

Eddie Howe on his attacking options:

“We are light in the centre forward area.

“I thought Anthony Gordon did very well on Saturday with his commitment and endeavour to the role.

“We really like Will Osula, he is training really well and we have a decision to make.”

Eddie Howe on Miguel Almiron:

“Miggy will be like every other player in the squad who wants to play.

“He is really highly valued by all of us, this is a big moment for him to show his qualities.

“He has made a huge contribution to our success in recent years and is a player we hope will do well.”

Eddie Howe on Saturday’s draw against Man City:

“We had a strong reflection on our start to the season, we are a very honest group.

“That was much more like ourselves against Manchester City, we rose to that occasion and now the challenge is to do that on a consistent basis.”

“We will wait and see how Kieran [Trippier] is, he felt okay yesterday but we are not sure if he will be ready for tomorrow.

Alex [Isak] won’t be fit for the game.
