Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that Nick Pope is not unsettled at the club despite some recent rumours.
The England goalkeeper has been a key part of the Magpies’ success since joining the Tyneside club from Burnley back in 2022 but the current campaign has not gone to plan. The 32-year-old only played 21 matches this term having suffered a serious shoulder injury.
This was a big blow to Pope as it also means he will miss out on the Euros with England this summer.
Dubravka stepped up in the Pope’s place but he is not at the same level as the former Burnley man. The 32-year-old is expected to take back the goalkeeper spot next season unless Howe signs another goalkeeper with the Magpies linked to Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale.
In light of this story, the Newcastle boss has stated that Pope is not unsettled at St James Park’ despite recent rumours.
Newcastle’s Nick Pope has missed most of the season

Eddie Howe confirms Nick Pope still has a big role at Newcastle
Newcastle are currently in Australia as part of a post-season tour and speaking to The Chronicle, Howe was asked if Pope still has a big role to play next season on Tyneside.
“Yeah, absolutely,” the Newcastle boss said. “That (he is unsettled) has not come from anyone connected with the football club, I can assure you of that.”
Pope is very likely to have a big role at St James’ Park next season if things remain the way they are now, however, if Howe signs another goalkeeper, things could get interesting.
