Eddie Howe has been talking about the England vacancy.
The Newcastle United Head Coach the subject of widespread media claims that he will follow Gareth Southgate as national team boss.
Eddie Howe also remaining the bookies favourite for the job at 5/2, although very little in it, as Graham Potter is 11/4 and Lee Carsley 3/1.
Basically, nobody has a clue.
Eddie Howe quizzed ahead of Friday’s deadline from The FA (see below), 2 August 2024 the final day for anybody interested to apply for the vacancy.
We can actually rule out one of those three bookies’ favourites, that is, if you believe Eddie Howe, which I certainly do.
Eddie Howe stating he is fully committed to the Newcastle United job 18 days ahead of the new NUFC Premier League season and that he has had zero contact with anybody regarding the England job, far less filling in an application form for the job…
Eddie Howe asked about media claims he will be the next England manager:
“I have had no contact whatsoever from anybody [regarding the England job].
“I am fully committed to Newcastle United.
“There is nothing to talk about.
“I do not need to address the players.
“They know by how I act.
“They can see how I am on a daily basis, to see how committed I am to the club.”
