His injury exit against Manchester United already announced the color, or rather the darkness. Hit in the knee during Aston Villa’s defeat at Villa Park (1-2) on Sunday, Boubacar Kamara was stopped in his tracks, he who had established himself as an indisputable starter in the eyes of Unai Emery this season. A knee injury which did not inspire anything good, especially four months before a major meeting: the Euro.

If a forfeit for the tournament was floating over the player’s head in recent days, Emery put an end to the suspense this Friday. Present at a press conference, the Spanish technician announced that his midfielder would not return to the competition until September: “Boubacar Kamara will be unavailable until September or October. When a player is injured, and for a long period of time, that’s the worst thing.”. A hard blow for Didier Deschamps, who will therefore not be able to count on his player at the Euro.
