After falling in Split on the outward journey Thursday evening, the French team crosses the iron with Croatia this Sunday, on the lawn of the Stade de France, during the quarter -finals return from the League of Nations. Apart from the purely sporting challenges, this meeting was strong in emotion for the Blues and French supporters since it marked the return of the French national selection at the Stade de France since the match against Israel, November 14, 2024.

But beyond that, the French Football Federation (FFF) also reserved an XXL tribute to Olivier Giroud, top scorer in the history of the Blues with 57 achievements in 157 selections. The Stade de France had planned a standing ovation and a nice tifo for the now scorer of Los Angeles FC. Its number 9 will now be forever hung on the stadium ceiling alongside Desailly, Zidane, Henry, Deschamps, Lloris, Thuram and Vieira.
