EXCLUSIVE: Golden Globe and Emmy nominated actor Edgar Ramirez is joining Place To Be, the drama from Kornél Mundruczó, the filmmaker of the Oscar-nominated Pieces of a Woman. The film also stars Ellen Burstyn, Taika Waititi and Pamela Anderson. Cameras are rolling in Sydney.

Ramirez was recently seen starring in the Academy Award winning film Emilia Perez from director Jacques Audiard for Netflix. He can be seen next in Arenas, director Camille Perton’s feature debut about professional soccer and writer-director Drake Doremus’ Next Life starring alongside Emilia Clarke.
He has appeared in numerous beloved features, including the Academy Award-nominated action thriller Zero Dark Thirty and Netflix’s global hit comedy film Yes Day. His starring turn in the 2010 biopic miniseries Carlos received widespread acclaim, and earned him a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination. Ramirez also starred in FX’s lauded miniseries The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story as Gianni Versace and HBO’s The Undoing, which was their most watched show of 2020.
The film will be produced by Jomon Thomas, Megan Wynn and Alexander Rodnyansky. WME Independent is handling international sales. The pic is backed by S’YA Concept with further funding by Screen NSW, through the state’s Made In NSW program.
Ramirez is represented by CAA, Impression Entertainment and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman.
