Nigerian award-winning artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly disagreed with a message by the police to Edo voters.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Frank Mba, overseeing security in the ongoing Edo State gubernatorial election, had urged the voters to go home immediately after casting their ballots.
During an interview with Channels Television on Saturday morning, Mba advised Edo residents to cast their votes and then return home immediately after they are done.
He also announced a restriction on vehicular movement in the state from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day.
Mba stated, “If you’re not accredited to participate in the election, you shouldn’t be on the streets. Cast your vote and return home; it’s your civic duty.”
Reacting to the statement, Davido, who is affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed disagreement with the directive.
Reacting to the video via his X account, Davido wrote, “Lol, go where.”
In another post, he wrote: “Bruh, @inecnigeria, fix up we cant continue like this, wtf.”
