The Edo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations on Tuesday urged the Governor-elect of the state, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to be magnanimous in victory by embracing all stakeholders, irrespective of political affiliation.

In a congratulatory message signed by the State Chairman of the NIPR, James-Wisdom Abhulimen urged Okpebholo to assemble a team of dedicated professionals that would help him realise his ambition of moving the state forward.

The statement said, “The Edo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Senator Monday Okpebholo’s victory as Governor-elect of Edo State, Nigeria.

“The NIPR urges Senator Okpebholo to be magnanimous in victory by embracing all stakeholders, irrespective of political affiliation, as he prepares to take on the responsibilities of his new office.

“We also call on the Governor-elect to lead an inclusive government that welcomes diverse opinions and perspectives. According to the NIPR, fostering unity and inclusivity will be vital in building a prosperous and united Edo State.

“Our advice to the Senator is that he should assemble a team of technocrats who possess integrity, experience, and a passion for service, ensuring that his administration is guided by expertise and dedication in pursuing his vision of “A New Edo State is Rising.”

The NIPR also emphasised the importance of continuity, calling on the Governor-elect to prioritise the completion of ongoing developmental projects initiated by the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki. This, they noted, would demonstrate his commitment to progress and sustainable development.

Assuring him of their unwavering support, the NIPR pledged to provide professional expertise and guidance to enhance communication strategies and governance during his tenure.

The Institute offered prayers for divine wisdom, good health, and grace for Senator Okpebholo, wishing him success as he prepares to lead Edo State into a new era of growth and development.
