All Progressives Congress candidate in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Monday Okpebholo
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has pledged to continue the developmental projects of former governor Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
Okpebholo made the statement during the APC’s ward-to-ward campaign in the Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state.
He also assured that all the missteps taken by the current governor, Godwin Obaseki, since 2016 would be corrected if he is elected into power.
“If God makes me the governor, I will continue from where my leader, former governor Adams Oshiomhole, left off. I will also rectify all the wrong moves made by the current state government,” he said.
In Okada town, Okpebholo promised to bring development closer to the grassroots by building quality schools and providing other amenities to improve residents’ lives.
He added, “The APC government under my watch will build quality schools and provide other amenities. Okada residents will not regret voting for me, as I will ensure that all schools and health centres have qualified personnel.”
Okpebholo’s running mate, Denise Idahosa, urged the people of Ovia to appreciate the APC for giving the deputy governorship ticket to their son.
He encouraged them to vote for the APC 100 per cent while assuring that the land of the late Captain Hosa Okunbo, which was taken by the state government, would be returned to the deceased’s family.
He also stated that the state government cannot use the Edo State Security Network to intimidate APC members at the poll, noting that the election would be conducted according to the law.
