As Muslims commemorate Eid-el-Maulud to mark the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Chairman of the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, on Monday extended his felicitations to the Muslim community in Kano and beyond.
In a statement signed by the Council’s Secretary, Comrade Abubakar Shehu Kwaru, the Chairman congratulated Muslims, particularly NUJ members, on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) birthday celebrations.
“Eid-Maulud is a time for love and reflection on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, as well as a remembrance of the seal of all Prophets, an embodiment of complete humanity.
“All Muslims should love one another, regardless of religion, and avoid neglecting the poor by emulating the exemplary character and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said.
The Chairman further emphasised the need not only to elevate the Eid-Maulud festivity to a higher level but also to make it a memorable occasion for everyone around by following the noble Prophet’s teachings as outlined in the Holy Qur’an.
“The Kano State Council of the NUJ will leave no stone unturned in improving the welfare of its members and upholding professionalism,” he concluded.
