Barcelona’s pre-season trip to the United States had a chock-full of youth players, as Hansi Flick decided to take stock of some of the best talents La Masia had to offer.

They did not disappoint either, with players like Marc Bernal, Marc Casado and Alex Valle making a solid impact across Barcelona’s three friendlies.

This has compelled Flick to incorporate the majority of the youth players under his wing heading into the new season.

Eight youth players train under Flick

According to Mundo Deportivo, a total of eight out of 13 youth players, who were part of Barcelona’s tour to the US, are now training with the first team, under the leadership of Hansi Flick.

This list of eight players includes Ander Astralaga and Hector Fort, who were already a part of Barcelona’s first team.

But some key additions include Marc Bernal and Gerard Martin, who is reportedly being looked at as an ideal alternative to Alejandro Balde at left-back.

Some others include Alex Valle, who impressed as a right-back and Mika Faye, even though the Senegalese international’s future still remains uncertain.

Sergi Dominguez, Quim Junyent and Toni Fernandez are other notable inclusions on this list.

Five players to return to the reserve side

However, not everyone was able to make an impact during the US tour. As per the report, five players have been sent back to train with the reserve side.

These players include goalkeeper Diego Kochen, centre-back Alexis Olmedo and midfielders Guille Fernandez and Unai Hernandez.

The highly talented Noah Darvich also did not make the cut, as he struggled to make an impact on the US tour. He will return to the reserve side, hoping to continue his steady progress.
