Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has raised a 13- member negotiation committee preparatory to the commencement of payment of the new minimum wage in the state.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Media, Yinka Oyebode, who disclosed in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, said, “The first meeting of the committee is slated for Wednesday, September 4”.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had in July signed the new minimum wage stipulating N70,000 monthly to law.

Oyebode, who stated that the negotiation committee would be chaired by the Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi, said that members were drawn from government and organised labour in the state.

He listed members from the government side as the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Akintunde Oyebode; Special Advisor on Labour Matters; ⁠Mr Kayode Fatomiluyi; and the Accountant General/Permanent Secretary, Mrs Titilayo Olayinka.

The government side also included the PS, Ministry of Justice; Mr Julius Bamise; PS, Ministry of Finance; Mr Oluwadare Jolumo; and PS, Office of Establishment and Service Matters, Mrs Janet Ajibola.

Oyebode said members from the Organised Labour are Chairman, Joint Negotiation Council, Olufemi Ajoloko; Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Olatunde Kolapo; Chairman, Trade Union Congress, Sola Adigun; Secretary, JNC, Yetunde Emmanuel; Secretary, NLC, Dr Israel Taiwo; and Secretary, TUC, Yemi Peters.
