Ella Envy begins a new chapter in her wrestling career.

In August 2024, the National Wrestling Alliance confirmed that “The It Girl” Ella Envy inked an exclusive contract with them. Fast forward to January 2025, the four-time Women’s Tag Team Champion has now provided a major update on her NWA status.

Following the recent expiration of her contract, Envy has opted not to re-sign with the National Wrestling Alliance. She is not ruling out the possibility of a return down the line, however.

“Starting on January 1st, I, Ella Envy, am now a free agent,” Envy told WrestleZone’s Ella Jay. “It was not an easy decision to leave the NWA. I had been with them since I was 21 years old. I am now 24 years old. They were the first people I feel like to really take a chance on me and to believe in me. And without the NWA, there would be no Ella Envy, and no It Girl. But with that being said, I am getting older and I just feel like I need to spread my wings. I feel like I need to exercise every opportunity that life throws at me, wrestling related and non-wrestling-related.”

“… I am not with the NWA anymore, but I absolutely adore them,” Envy continued. “Love them, I wish them the absolute best. And maybe one day I will be back in an NWA ring. But until then, I’m going to figure things out on my own. Hopefully you guys watching this and promoters and the world will take a chance on the It Girl.”

Currently, Envy and Miss Starr (aka Samantha Starr) still reign as the NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions on NWA programming since the majority of the show is pre-taped. As such, it has yet to be seen how Envy’s departure will impact their reign.

Ella Envy wants to expand her reach in 2025

Upon her entry into the free agency market, Ella Envy is looking forward to expanding her national reach, specifically to the West Coast of the United States. Envy, of course, is hoping to go international as well.

“My goals for 2025 is to get out to the West Coast and as well as wrestle in a different country … whether that’s Japan, Germany, Ireland, wherever. I want to go do it,” Envy said. “I feel like I want to get a change of scenery. Absolutely love North Carolina and the East Coast and everywhere in between, but those are my goals for this year — to go international and to the West Coast.”

According to Envy, her West Coast aspirations are already materializing, as she is slated for an upcoming appearance at Pandemonium: Pro Wrestling. The respective event, titled “The House Always Wins,” will emanate from Las Vegas on April 17, just days before WWE takes over the city for WrestleMania 41.
