Ellen Pompeo opened up about criticisms that she faced about her body during the early days of her career. The 55-year-old Grey’s Anatomy actress has been a fixture in Hollywood for decades at this point. During a recent interview, she discussed how the public’s obsession with her body as she settled into the industry hurt her self-confidence. Keep reading to find out more… “I was so skinny and I hated it and everyone thought I had an eating disorder,” she told People. “It was a whole situation with how skinny I was, and there was so much negative attention. Girls today can be gorgeous and thin and thank God we’re not allowed to comment on women’s bodies, even though people do. But I just had so much anxiety and lacked self-esteem because people were so critical of my physicality.” She continued, saying, “the tabloids would say horrible things. I just remember being so anxious on red carpets, and the comments about my weight and my body.
