They’ve finally “Buried the Hatchet!!!”
Madonna and Elton John’s nasty years-long feud has finally come to and end after the “Tiny Dancer” singer pleaded for her to forgive him.
The unlikely reunion happened backstage at “SNL” on Saturday night as John was the musical guest for the show.
Alongside an Instagram photo of the two music icons hugging, the “Vogue” singer shared that she has been a lifelong fan of John, having snuck out to see him perform when she was in high school.
Madonna and Elton John have finally made peace after a long feud. Madonna/Instagram Madonna shared the news on her Instagram account on Monday. Madonna / Instagram The “Vogue” singer wrote that she first saw John perform when she was a teenager. TikTok“It was an unforgettable performance that helped me understand the transformative power of music,” she wrote, adding, that it changed the course of her life. “I had always felt like an outsider growing up and watching him on stage helped me to understand that it was OK to be different-to stand out- to take the road, less traveled by. In fact, it was essential.”
Madonna, 66, admitted that it “hurt” hearing John’s nasty comments over the years, including allegedly calling her “a miserable cow,” and decided to confront him at “SNL” over the weekend.
“Over the decades it hurt me to know that someone I admired so much shared his dislike of me publicly as an artist. I didn’t understand it,” she wrote.
She said that the first words out of the “Your Song” crooner’s mouth was “forgive me” and the “wall between us fell down.”

The rift began more than 20 years ago when John, 78, slammed Madonna’s “Die Another Day” song, labeling it the “worst Bond tune ever.”
It intensified in 2004 at the Q Awards when John won the Classic Songwriter Award and Madonna was nominated for Best Live Act.
As he accepted his award the “Rocket Man” singer groused from the stage: “Madonna, best live act? F–k off. Since when has lip-syncing been live? Sorry about that, but I think everyone who lip-syncs on stage in public when you pay like 75 quid to see them should be shot. Thank you very much. That’s me off her Christmas card list, but do I give a toss? No.”

John later walked back his comments, sharing that Madonna had been to his home for dinner and “it was something I said in the heat of the moment, and probably should not have said.”
However, John’s husband, David Furnish, stoked the flames when he badmouthed Madonna in 2012 after she won a Golden Globe for best original song over John.
“Madonna winning best original song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit,” he wrote on Facebook. “Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism.”
John’s husband David Furnish also slammed the singer. AFP via Getty Images Furnish was annoyed because Madonna won a Golden Globe over John. Madonna politely responded: “Elton has been known to get mad at me, so I don’t know. He’s brilliant, and I adore him, so he’ll win another award. I don’t feel bad.”
That year, John ranted about Madonna, not realizing that his comments would be broadcast on TV.
During an Australian interview, John, who is good friends with Lady Gaga, defended her against Madonna.

Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn’t happen to a bigger c–t.”
“She’s been so horrible to Gaga,” he continued. “If Madonna had any common sense she’d have made a record like ‘Ray Of Light,’ stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records which she does brilliantly.
“But no, she had to prove that she was, like… and she looks like a f–king fairground stripper,” he viciously added.
John continued to defend Lady Gaga in his 2019 memoir, “Me.”
He also defended Lady Gaga against Madonna. WireImage John even mentioned Lady Gaga and Madonna’s rivalry in his memoir. Amazon“I used to make fun of [Madonna] for lip-syncing on stage, but the problem really started when she ran Gaga down on an American chat show,” he wrote.
“I got that Gaga’s single ‘Born This Way’ definitely sounded similar to (Madonna’s song) ‘Express Yourself,’ but I couldn’t see why she was so ungracious and nasty about it, rather than taking it as a compliment… particularly when she claims to be a champion for women.”
“I think it’s just wrong — an established artist shouldn’t kick down a younger artist right at the start of their career,” he added.

Madonna announced in her post that the two are now planning to work together.
“Then he told me (he) had written a song for me and he wanted to collaborate,” she shared. “It was like everything came full circle!!
“And you can tell everybody , This is Your Song……….💙,” she ended the missive, quoting one of John’s most famous songs.
