Actor Kangana Ranaut has released the trailer of Emergency which is based on the chronicles of India’s former Primi Minister Indira Gandhi. The trailer sheds light on the important aspects of her life right from becoming a prime minister to people going against her. Emergency shows the darkest chapter of Indian democracy. It touches upon the subjects of when Pakistan attacked India Kashmir was under attack and the Shimla agreement.

Emergency is helmed by Kangana and boasts a cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.

Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film is set against the backdrop of one of India’s most tumultuous political periods and claims to be a portrayal of historical events. With screenplay and dialogues by Ritesh Shah and music orchestrated by Sanchit Balhara, Emergency aims to captivate audiences with its portrayal of a significant chapter in India’s political history. The political drama is set to hit theatres worldwide on September 6, 2024.
