Emma Diaz is ready for whatever lies ahead.

Following her release from WWE on May 3, Emma Diaz is now on a mission to establish herself on the independent wrestling scene, while also continuing to fine-tune her character and in-ring style. Diaz’s first post-WWE stop led her to Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion, specifically their No Limits event on May 11.

There, the up-and-coming star competed in her very first ladder match against the likes of Promise Braxton, Jada Stone, Maya World, Lady Bird, Miranda Alize, and Gigi Rey. During a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Diaz recounted her experience.

“It was definitely crazy. I wouldn’t think that my third match in front of fans would be a ladder match, but I will say that I like being thrown into the fire,” Diaz said. “It kind of just like pushes me. I do well under pressure. And I do well in those circumstances where I’m like, ‘Okay, I have to figure it out here.’ That’s where I grow the most. So I’m really [grateful that] I got that challenging experience because now I can say I’ve been in a ladder match.”

Coming off her ladder match at ROW No Limits, Diaz will return to the promotion on June 8 for the Power Shift event in Texas City, Texas. “I’m excited to see what’s next,” Diaz said. “I will be back at Reality of Wrestling June 8th, so maybe it’ll be a singles match. I don’t know who will who against yet, but those will air on YouTube. So it’ll be cool for everyone to see my reps and stuff.”

Future Goals

As she continues her ventures outside of WWE, Diaz will soon begin training alongside Shawn Spears and Tyler Breeze at the Flatbacks Wrestling School in Apopka, Florida. Beyond that, though, Diaz is also keen on completing her biology program at the University of Central Florida.

“I want to graduate college, so I’m coming up on that now,” Diaz revealed. “I have one more semester left, so now I can focus on finishing that. That’s pretty much it right now, and then going to Flatbacks and continuing my pro wrestling career, and maybe getting picked up by a company like TNA or finding my way back into WWE. That’s what I’m focusing on right now — having my degree in my back pocket and putting my best foot forward at pro wrestling.”
