EXCLUSIVE: Pródigo Films, the Brazilian production company behind Paramount+’s International Emmy Award-nominated MMA series Anderson Spider Silva, has signed with Independent Artist Group for representation.

Boasting an unmatched reputation in their native country, along with unrivaled access to top tier local crew and understanding of the Brazilian landscape, Pródigo produces scripted and unscripted formats for both theatrical and SVOD distribution, their main partners being Netflix, HBO, Disney+, Paramount and Amazon. The company produces original content all around the country, from the most remote locations to hectic urban centers. The Emmy nom for Anderson Spider Silva aside, their work has also been noted this year with a win at the Giornate Degli Autori in Venice for their independent film Manas.

Stated Gabriela Matarazzo, Director of Development at Pródigo, “Signing with IAG marks a key milestone in Pródigo Films’ strategy to expand our international footprint. We are strong advocates of positioning Brazil as a premier global production hub, utilizing the country’s exceptional talent alongside its diverse biomes and landscapes that deliver unmatched cinematic experiences at competitive costs. For us, placing Brazil at the center of the global production map is vital not only for our company but also for the growth of our country’s economy and film industry, creating opportunities for our talented artists and amplifying the cultural impact of filmmaking on our society.”

Matarazzo said that the partnership with IGA “is essential in bridging the gap between the Brazilian industry and the international market. This collaboration is part of our long-term vision to foster sustainable, cross-border relationships and contribute to the need for fresh, diverse narratives.”

IAG’s Marina Moyses commented, “As a talent agent from Brazil, my passion lies in discovering and nurturing exceptional international talent, especially from Latin America. Pródigo Films is committed to producing high-quality content for the world’s leading distributors, and our latest partnership is a strategic move to connect clients with top-tier global production companies and distributors. With a strong network across Latin America, we are proactive in identifying and securing the best talent from the region for global opportunities.”

Added the agency’s Head of Physical Production, Julian Savodivker, “Production standards worldwide have never been higher, and we are focused on bringing international clients to the U.S. while also exporting U.S. talent to international markets. This dual approach has already proven highly successful for us, and we’re excited to continue expanding our global footprint.”

Other notable credits for Pródigo Films include Carlos Saldanha’s Brazilian folklore fantasy series Invisible City and Girls From Ipanema (both for Netflix); Love Is for the Strong for Amazon; SXSW Audience Award winner Jules and Dolores; The Hour and Turn of Augusto Matraga, which won five awards at the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival; and Florianópolis Dream, which garnered four at Karlovy Vary.

Viewed as a differentiator for IAG, the agency’s Physical Production department serves clients and production companies worldwide, spanning North America, Europe, Asia, South America, the South Pacific, and the Middle East. These clients and production companies produce a wide range of content, including feature films, television shows, streaming films, scripted and unscripted series, and documentaries. The agency is committed to identifying opportunities for international clients to collaborate with our U.S.-based clients, and vice versa, fostering cross-border partnerships and expanding creative possibilities.
