Endrick, the serious injury

Earlier this week it was announced that Joan Martinez had torn her anterior cruciate ligament.

The 16-year-old defender was expected to be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the 2024-25 season but will now almost certainly miss the entire campaign.

According to Marca, it was a trivial collision between Martinez and Endrick Felipe that led to the former’s unfortunate injury. The incident reportedly occurred just minutes after the end of Real Madrid’s training session on Friday.

Difficult beginnings

Endrick has had a difficult start to his life at Real Madrid, as he failed to impress in pre-season games in the United States. This incident didn’t help, although he certainly can’t be blamed for it.

The summer has not been the easiest for Real. The non-arrival of Leny Yoro in the transfer window was a hard blow, and his possible “replacement” now suffering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament is very cruel. The club’s directors hope that the 2024-25 season itself will be much better.
