Turan had seen his side take the lead in their Turkish Super Lig clash through Ahmed Kutucu.

However, the visitors grabbed an equaliser in first-half stoppage time thanks to Youssef En-Nesyri.

Turan was left enraged during a separate incident, though, as En-Nesyri avoided punishment for headbutting an Eyupspor player.

Despite replays showing their altercation and the forward moving his head into his opponent, En-Nesyri was not sent off.

Turan was sent off, however, for his furious antics in the dugout.

Footage from the stands showed the Eyupspor manager screaming at the fourth official as he made his feelings known.

He could also be seen running onto the pitch before his coaching staff pulled him back.

Former Barcelona man Turan was later seen smoking a cigar while sat in the stands.

Turan's dismissal did not disrupt his side enough to concede again as the match ended 1-1.

The draw sees Fenerbahce cut Galatasaray's lead at the top of the table to five points but they have played a game more.

Meanwhile, Eyupspor remain fourth in their debut top flight campaign.

Turan guided the club to promotion as champions last term in his first season as a manager.

He had been appointed in April 2023 after retiring as a player the previous year.

His squad in Istanbul includes former Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who signed in the summer.

Turan will be hoping to return to winning ways against Antalyaspor on January 5, although he will have to watch from the stands following his red card.
