Eric Bischoff thinks Roman Reigns should have waited longer to return to the WWE.

The leader of the Bloodline returned at Summerslam 2024, appearing for the first time since WrestleMania 40. He attacked Solo Sikoa in the main event, as he has been claiming to be the real Tribal Chief in Roman Reigns’ absence.

However, Eric Bischoff thinks that his return came too soon. He spoke with Conrad Thompson on the 83 Weeks Podcast, revealing that, while the reaction to his return was “amazing”, it would have been better had they waited even longer.

“I got a little heat about that. Evidently, you and I had been talking about SummerSlam a week or two before the event, and I think you asked me whether or not it was the right time to bring Roman back, or if it was too soon. Evidently, I responded that I thought they should wait a little bit longer and take advantage of the ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder’ factor. Let that build and build, and then bring him back.”

“Roman came back and got an amazing reaction that I haven’t seen yet, and it worked out pretty well. But the question, you know, the heat that I got was, ‘See, you were wrong again. They brought Roman back, and they blew the roof off.'”

“I didn’t suggest that bringing him back wouldn’t be successful. My point of view was that perhaps could have been an even bigger reaction had we let that tea brew just a little bit longer. Anyway, I did hear it was a phenomenal reaction.”

Eric Bischoff Thinks Roman Reigns’ Return Is Leading To A Bloodline War Games Match

Eric Bischoff thinks that the road is leading to a Bloodline vs Bloodline War Games match at Survivor Series

Conrad Thompson asked Eric Bischoff if he thinks Survivor Series this year feature “Old Bloodline vs New Bloodline” in a War Games match. The former WCW boss agreed, noting that it will help WWE continue to break records.

“Yeah, it’s on brand. It’s like the title of the event was created for their story. And yeah, that’s another reason. But look, it worked. It was hugely successful. I’m sure from a financial point of view, we’re going to be reading about even more records being broken because WWE tends to make a habit of that on a monthly basis.”

“But again, it’s always like, ‘God, what if? What if they would have waited a little while longer?’ What if? But yeah, either way, it worked. But I agree with you, man, it’s on brand.”
