John Laurinaitis garnered attention due to his alleged involvement in Vince McMahon’s hush money settlement scandal, leading to significant consequences as WWE parted ways with him. Laurinaitis was also implicated in Vince McMahon’s trafficking lawsuit, asserting that he was merely a victim. Eric Bischoff knows Laurinaitis all too well and made it clear he wasn’t surprised by the latter’s claim.

In the ongoing legal battle, Janel Grant has accused Vince McMahon of sexual trafficking and other misconduct. Grant alleges that McMahon shared explicit content of her without consent, involving other WWE employees, unnamed executives, and stars, and directed her to engage in sexual activities with them.

John Laurinaitis has been named in the lawsuit, facing allegations of engaging in sexual activities with Janel Grant. However, Laurinaitis has countered these claims, asserting that he is victim in the lawsuit.

While speaking on 83 Weeks, Eric Bischoff commented on John Laurinaitis’ response to the accusations. Bischoff stated that he was not surprised by Laurinaitis’ actions, considering the need to salvage his reputation and protect himself financially due to being named in the lawsuit.

The case involves potential crimes, such as trafficking and interstate commerce, which significantly elevate the stakes, which makes Johnny Ace’s claim the obvious course of action.

“I was not surprised,” Bischoff said. “Because what else is Johnny Laurinaitis going to do? To try his best to salvage what’s left of his reputation, and I think beyond even the reputational aspect of this, to protect himself financially because he’s at risk here. He’s named in that lawsuit. So it didn’t surprise me … But in a case like this, particularly if we’re talking about potential crimes — and you know, trafficking has been part of this, and about interstate commerce, if there was any, and I would assume there probably was in some respects, in some cases, it changes the stakes dramatically.”

The lawsuit led to Vince McMahon’s permanent resignation from both WWE and TKO. In response to the legal proceedings, WWE removed all references to McMahon from its platforms. The outcome for John Laurinaitis remains uncertain.
