Cody Rhodes has unique talent for connecting with fans in WWE and all of this led to him becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion. He is the biggest babyface in WWE right now but it appears that Eric Bischoff plans to contact Rhodes about turning him heel.
While he is definitely a massive babyface right now, there is a select audience who actually wants to see Cody Rhodes becoming a heel. It is to be noted Rhodes has been heel quite a few times in his career, so it’s nothing new for him.
While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff was asked about Cody Rhodes turning heel. Bischoff stated that he has been thinking about Rhodes turning heel for a while. Bischoff stated that he has an idea in his head, which isn’t a big angle, but rather focuses on the transition from a babyface to a heel.
Typically, this transition is abrupt, but he envisions a more gradual shift. Bischoff mentioned that he almost texted Cody Rhodes recently, and actually does plan on texting Rhodes soon, stating that if there’s ever a conversation about Cody turning heel, he wants to have 20 minutes to discuss his idea. He believes his subtle approach could make the transition special and effective.
“I’ve been thinking about it. I have an idea in my head; it’s not a big idea, it’s not an angle. It’s all about the transition. Typically, going from babyface to heel is an abrupt transition, like all of a sudden, right? But I see it differently in my head. I almost texted Cody this the other day. In fact, I will. Cody, if you’re listening to this, if there’s ever a conversation about you turning heel and it starts to get a little bit real, give me 20 minutes before you make a decision. Give me 20 minutes just to add a little bit of something to make it special.”
“So yeah, I think, look, is it gonna happen? I don’t know. I don’t talk to anybody. But if it does, I’d like 20 minutes of Cody’s time. If he turns, I’ve got a little something, and it’s so subtle but it would be so effective.”
Even The Undertaker believes Cody Rhodes could be good heel. Regardless, only time will tell if The American Nightmare will embrace his dark side and become a heel again in the future.
