Eric Roberts reacts to ‘DWTS’ elimination, reveals marriage advice he couldn’t share on live TV

Eric Roberts got candid about his elimination from “Dancing With the Stars” and revealed the marriage advice he gave to partner Britt Stewart, which he couldn’t share on live TV.

The “Runaway Train” star caught up with Page Six backstage at the ballroom after he performed a Paso Doble routine to Warrant’s 1990 track “Cherry Pie” during Tuesday’s Hair Metal Night.

“The bad news is, I got cut,” he shared. “But the good news is, I don’t have to learn another dance.”

“A lot less stress for Eric Roberts starting tomorrow,” Stewart, 35, quipped.

Eric, 68, shared that he never intended to win Season 33 of “DWTS” and solely competed for the enjoyment of his wife, Eliza Roberts, to whom he’s been married for 32 years.

“I’m on this show because my wife loves this show,” he said. “I was never out to beat anybody. I was just dancing and my wife loves the show, so I did it for my wife.”

The casting director, 71, joined her famous husband on the dance floor for Monday’s Soul Train Night, as he and Stewart danced to Al Green’s 1972 track, “Let’s Stay Together.”

At the end of the duo’s Foxtrot routine, Eric swiftly walked to the audience and pulled his wife in for a kiss.

“That was my idea,” Stewart shared about the sweet moment. “I just really wanted to honor their marriage. Eliza, she’s here supporting Eric every single week. She’s in our rehearsals every single day.”

“She really is a third member of Team Brightside,” the professional dancer added, referring to her and Eric’s dynamic duo name.

“So we just wanted to dedicate a dance to her and really celebrate her and their marriage.”

Eric chimed in that he and Eliza have plans to go on a double date with Stewart and her fiancé, Daniel Durant.

On Monday’s episode of the dancing show, the “Dark Knight” star revealed he gave marriage advice to Stewart. However, he didn’t divulge the “full” details because they were live on a Disney show.

Later that evening, however, he wasn’t as shy when talking to Page Six.

“What I told Britt was the combination to a happy marriage — and a long happy marriage — is, of course, honesty … it’s hard … and …”

“And sex,” Stewart chimed in.

“If you’re having loads, you’re good to go,” the father of actress Emma Roberts quipped.

Eric and Eliza tied the knot in 1992.

As for Stewart, she got engaged to her former Season 31 “DWTS” partner Daniel Durant in December 2023, more than a year after they started dating.

“Dancing With the Stars” returns next Tuesday for Dedication Night, airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
