Eric Young doesn’t understand people’s reactions to the recent documentary about Vince McMahon.

Fans had mixed reactions to the recent Netflix documentary, Mr McMahon. The show chronicled McMahon’s life, including his childhood, the growth of the WWE and his eventual retirement in 2022, and 2024.

However, the documentary treaded lightly on some of the more controversial topics in his life. For example, his alleged cover-up of Jimmy Snuka’s murder of Nancy Argentino was barely touched upon, among other things.

While some people were surprised at this, Eric Young wasn’t.

Eric Young recently appeared on HUGE POP! with Donnie DaSilva and Jimmy Korderas (H/T to Post Wrestling for the transcription). He spoke about the Mr McMahon documentary, claiming he didn’t know what fans were expecting from it.

The TNA star noted that “Netflix is married to the WWE” now, so a hit job on McMahon was never going to happen.

“I don’t know what people were expecting (from Netflix’s Vince McMahon docuseries). I mean, Netflix is married to the WWE. No one understands better that he doesn’t work there anymore, but I mean, his legacy will be part of that company as long as it exists and at one time, I would say in my personal opinion, a genius and maybe the greatest promoter living and he lost his way along the way obviously and the documentary is certainly not kind.”

Eric Young Hasn’t Seen Mr McMahon

Despite his statement, Eric Young has yet to see the new documentary.

The TNA star continued, adding that he has “lots of other good TV” to watch first. However, others have filled him in on the content of the documentary.

“I haven’t seen it but I know people that have. I don’t know if I’ll watch it or not. It’s certainly not on my list. There’s lots of other good TV that I’m busy watching, and this comes as — the stuff on there is stuff that’s been talked about before. So, yeah, it’s no news to me but, it’s definitely got the world and anybody that’s linked or affiliated to wrestling in any way talking and wondering what’s gonna happen so, it’s never a dull moment in pro wrestling. That’s for sure. You guys know that.”
